Survey Activity
Preparing the survey

Design a survey in pairs.

Think of a subject (education, work, study habits, use of time, future study, role of sports in society) that interests you.

Come up with a hypothesis: Ex: Older people use more water than younger people.

Survey two groups of people: by age, by sex, smoker/smoker, private school/public

You want to ask at least twenty REAL people (ten from each group) between 8-10 questions about your topic.

Presenting your report

Written: write up your report including 4 sections: introduction, method, results and discussion (see pages 204-206) – 350-400 WORDS.
Oral: Present your report to the class based on your written report. Use visuals: charts, tables, bar graph (http://www.mathleague.com/help/data/data.htm) , pie chart, line charts. 10 MINUTES
When: 12 teams – 6 teams presenting March 8 and March 22 (pick at random)
Oral evaluation criteria will be posted on the class blog.
Before leaving today, please form your pairs. Also try to come up with a subject today. No repeat subjects. Please sign the list.
Send me (fbonk@videotron.ca) your subject and hypothesis as soon as possible. I will post the pairs, subjects and presentation dates by tomorrow, Feb. 16.
See the class for this posting under: Survey.
